Oh the humidity!

It is quite humid outside today; the dewpoint has crept up to 62. That's definitely getting into the "juicy" range. The forecast today is for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon with locally heavy rain. I love thunderstorms so I hope we get a good one. That's something that I miss from S. Florida.

This weekend it was so hot that we put an air conditioner in Elisabeth's room. It was the one from our room last year so now we have to go buy one for our room. She couldn't nap upstairs during the day until we put the AC in because it gets hot hot hot in the afternoon up there. So now she snoozes comfortably. It hasn't gotten too bad in the rest of the house yet in the afternoons. It's already 74 according to the thermostat in the dining room though so we'll see. Unfortunately the basement room is still under construction. Rich has been trying to plant a garden and keep our crazy lawn under control so that's taken up a chunk of his time. Then there was a minor disaster involving oil leaking from our furnace and getting into the carpet in the basement room. That piece of carpet has been ripped out, the furnace has been fixed, but unfortunately it still smells of heating oil down there. Hopefully some more time and some more of the stuff that's used to absorb the odor will help.

I just finished reading a very interesting book. It's called Reading Lolita in Tehran . It's a memoir of a female literature professor focusing on her experiences during the Islamic Revolution in Iran. I thought it was very well written and I would recommend reading it if you get a chance.

I have a little monkey here who is dying to say something.

I'm not sure of the translation. Maybe Jack, James Mark, or Georgia could translate for us.

Speaking of Jack, only 3 weeks until he and Jessica come to visit!!!

Have fun in the FLA! You'll have to call me when you get back and tell me about the big reunion.
