Weather report: Interesting weather to report today. Earlier today it was quite foggy with visibilities down to 1/4 of a mile. Temperatures were rather cool, just around 50 most of the day. This evening, a cold front was approaching the area with a line of pretty good looking storms preceeding the front. Around 2Z (that's 10 pm EST), quite a strong thunderstorm moved through the area. There were a few rumbles that shook the house! Pretty suprising for November up here. The temperature at 11 pm EST was 59...an 8 degree increase in an hour!!
I'm still happy about last night's beatdown of the Hokies. It was such a wonderful victory. Unfortunately, the Dolphins were not as inspiring today. Gus Frerotte made a dumb mistake at the end that pretty much ended any hope of a comeback by the Fins. Too bad, because the defense played really well, as has been the case this year. Oh well...can't win them all. As far as the mighty Mahi-Mahis go, in the Extraordinary Brilliance league, a win is well in hand as of this evening. The Tacoma Rabbits have Reggie Wayne going tomorrow night and I have the Indy D, but I think I am far enough ahead barring a stupendous performance by the aforementioned Mr. Wayne (he went to the "U" so it wouldn't shock me :) ). As for the Cane Crazy league, the Mahis are losing to the Candy Canes by about 4 points. So tomorrow night it will be for all the marbles.
Onto a movie review: I just watched Bring It On, on Friday afternoon. It lived up to the expectations that I had for it, a fun movie with some laughs. Kirsten Dunst plays Torrance, a high school senior who is captain of the cheerleading team. This is not just any old cheerleading team however; this team wins national cheering championships (like you see on ESPN2). Torrance expects this year to be no different, but she's in for a suprise. Turns out that the former captain stole routines and cheers from another squad in inner city LA. Suddenly she's faced with trying to come up with a new routine and nationals are only 3 weeks away! Eliza Dushku plays Missy who is a new member of the squad and provides some grounding for Torrance and the rest of the cheerleaders. And there's Missy's brother....but I won't give it away in case you haven't seen it yet. In any case, besides some rather crude jokes and innuendos, it was an amusing movie and I will give it ***.
