Gobble Gobble

Weather report: Today could be fall's last gasp around these parts for awhile. It looks like it will be close to 60 today. Tonight the fun gets going as low pressure moves up the East Coast. Most of the precipitation should be rain tonight and into tomorrow, but we could end the storm with a little snow. And for Turkey Day, another system will be shooting east from the Great Lakes (a clipper type system) which would give the possibility for our first real snowfall of the year! Thursday's high is forecast to be 33, so I'm thinking a wet snow is not out of the question. We won't be here for Christmas, so a white Thanksgiving could be fun.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, my parents are flying in to Boston on Tuesday night!!! I am so excited to see them and for them to see Elisabeth. The last time they saw her in person, she was only a week old. They are even more excited than I am. Hopefully they won't be too cold; they will be coming from the upper 60's and arriving to probably the low 30's on Tuesday evening. This will also be the Pyatt family's first Thanksgiving in our very own house. The past several years we would either go to my grandmother's in Melbourne or to Stuart with Rich's family. I've been really wanting to have a holiday at our own home for a long time and now we are! Mmm...can't wait for the sweet potato souffle!

In other news, I'm very excited because I'm embarking on a redecorating project. It's for the finished room in my basement. Here is what it looked like when the previous owners lived here.

It still looks pretty much the same now. Needs work huh? Since we moved into our house at the end of February, the room has been a repository for stuff we didn't know what to do with so it wouldn't be cluttering up the rest of the house. Not such a great use of the space now that we've been here for almost 9 months! Currently my craft room is part of the guest room/office on the main floor of the house. There is just not enough space in there to keep all my crafty parephenalia organized. It keeps oozing out of the closet despite all my best intentions. So I decided to stake a claim to the basement room and turn it into my craft room. It's a nice sized room and I have a TV and a DVD player down there. It will be really great too when Elisabeth starts rolling around because it's carpeted and she won't be able to roll out of the room! Another positive, it will be nice and cool down there in the beastly hot summer (we don't have central AC). I'm going to paint the walls a blue color ( Behr Azurean ) and paint the trim white. My dad is going to help me paint it this weekend I think. There is also a bathroom down there which I am going to paint as well, a green I think (something like Behr Dublin). I'll post a picture when it's finished to show the transformation.

If I don't get to write before, Happy Thanksgiving to all. I know I am truly thankful for all the blessings God has given me this year, especially my baby girl.

That little girl brings such a smile to my face. Look at her! She has grown so much in such a short time.

I think transforming the basement is a great idea. It can be the play room for you AND Elisabeth. I totally didn't realize there was a bathroom down there. Sweet action!

I didn't even realize we both had "Karyn" pants on!!! How funny! I think she may not be able to wear those little jeans again though. She's getting too big! I can't believe it...I still remember the first time I put them on her. They were huge. Sigh...I guess that's what she's supposed to do though :).
