Happy to Be Here in the Nation's Capitol

So far we've had a lovely time here in the greater DC metro area. Yesterday we went down to the Tidal Basin to have a picnic and see the cherry blossoms. We were down that way just under a week ago and there weren't many blossoms out. What a difference this time!

Pretty huh? We had a very nice picnic. Karyn and I ate some sandwiches. Elisabeth ate cereal and pears. She's really been enjoying being outside. She hasn't been able to do that much since she was born!

While Karyn was taking the above picture, this lady was also stopping to take some photos of the cherry trees. She saw Elisabeth sitting there and said, "Oh she's a blossom! Can I take her picture?". It was so funny. So now Elisabeth is on some strange lady's camera and when she shows the pictures to who ever, Elisabeth is the "random cute baby" in Washington DC!

Here's all three of us (picture taken by a nice lady with an 8 month old baby; Karyn took a picture for her and she returned the favor).

It was a little bit of an ordeal to get to the tidal basin on the metro. For an in-depth report on this, please visit Auntie Karyn's blog.

So it's been a fun time so far. Tonight I get to be a part of Karyn's small group. That will be fun. And tomorrow we're going to the zoo. And it's going to be 75! I'm off to Old Navy to buy a tank top!!!

We saw cherry trees in Nashville, along with daffodils and violets and tulips and all the other spring flowers. Can you believe that those were pretty much the first spring flowers I've seen outside of a grocery store? - Jessica
