Yesterday I came downstairs after putting Elisabeth down for her nap and sat on the couch. We have a Tivo so sometimes if I leave the room and come back in a bit the channel will have changed to record something the Tivo thinks I would enjoy (which is rarely the case). So yesterday after returning to the living room, I noticed the Tivo had changed the channel on me. What did it change it to? Fit-TV. Yup...apparently my Tivo thinks I need to lose some weight or exercise or something. I think taking care of a 20 lb baby gives me all the exercise I need thank you very much. I think my arms are actually getting quite buff from all the lifting and carrying of my no longer small bundle of joy! Tivo should know that it could seriously wreck a mommy's day to remind her that she may never regain the form she once had before embarking on the incredible journey of motherhood. I feel for the most part I've made my peace with my current body shape, but some days are better than others.
In related news, last year I decided that I would no longer wear shorts since I think they aren't all that comfortable and they don't look all the great on me. So I've been trying to fill the gap with other clothing items, such as skirts. Today I went to Old Navy because I had one of those "Stuff and Save" bags so I figured I should go and see what there was. I found some cute skirts that I'd been loving but thought didn't look that good on me before. I tried them on again (in a different size) and they looked SO much better! Yay! So now I have 3 new skirts and a new shirt too. And I saved 20%! A good day.
