Heard while driving

  • A small town in Switzerland has 3 months of darkness every Dec - Feb. But they are not above the Arctic circle (66.5 degrees N). So why the darkness? They are nestled in a valley amongst the Alps. The mountains block out the sun because the sun angle is much lower during the winter months. The town is investing in some mirrors to help direct sunlight into the valley. Apparently a village in Italy with a similar problem tried that and it worked.
  • A jingle for "OverweightDate.com". Yes...a dating site for those who either want or have "more to love". Their newest venture? "TallDate.com": If you want to see eye to eye or just want to feel small and delicate in someone's arms... Seriously?
  • St. Louis had a huge animal parade either today or yesterday. Dogs from all over attended dressed in costume. One dog was dressed as a fire hydrant.
  • The National Weather Service was sending a team to a small town in New York to measure their snow. This town has had about 11 feet of snow in the last week or so. If it checks out it will be an all time record for New York state.
  • The Red Sox equipment truck began its journey from Fenway Park to Ft. Myers today. There was a large contingent on hand to see the truck off. Guess we're ready for some baseball here.
  • An "all natural" non invasive ED treatment involving some kind of vacuum pump. Guys: Any takers??
  • If you didn't know any better you'd think it was February 2008 instead of Feb. 07. Obama and Hillary were in New Hampshire this weekend, working their presidential campaigns. It's going to be a long year.

Apparently my RSS feed somehow deleted your blog and I didn't notice it. I missed all these posts since Christmas! That video of E kissing the kitty is precious! :)
