Happy New Year everyone. We got back from our Florida trip on Wednesday night. It was a great trip, but I was so happy to finally come home again. I think Elisabeth was happy to come home too. We walked into the house and she looked around and cracked a big smile. It was so funny! She had her 4 month appointment yesterday. She now weighs 15 lb 13 oz, exactly 10 lb more than when she was born. The next big thing is that now we can start introducing her to solids. The first solid recommended to us is a single grain cereal, usually a rice cereal. I think we're going to get some this weekend and see what she thinks of it. Next month we can try veggies! She is so talkative now; I love hearing all the shrieks, gurgles, and coos that she's making now.
We are going on an outing today, all the way to Nashua, NH to go to Jo-ann's. Hopefully she'll get a good nap in during the car ride!
It snowed a few inches while we were gone and then snowed a little yesterday. It ended up only being maybe an inch or two but it was so pretty while it was falling. I love opening my curtains and watching the snow fall while burning candles in my living room. It's so snuggly! It would be even nicer to have a fire going, but I have yet to attempt a solo fire build. I intellectually understand how to do it, but there's something about it that I just can't get past. I just don't want to be the one to burn down the house I guess!
Oh and one more thing, thank you Longhorns. You made my night the other day...it was worth staying up to see.

I still can't believe how loud those happy shrieks were when she was watching the peek-a-boo elmo thing.
